Eyeshadow

When finding eyeshadow colours that suit your eye colour the technique we chose to use, is the color wheel, which is often used in art. The colour wheel portrays the relationships between colours. Here we'll focus on complementary colours. Complementary colours are opposite to each other on the colour wheel, they provide a high contrast. Complementary colours are widely used, for example the Lakers logo is yellow and purple.

Blue eyes

Based on the colour theory, the best colour for you to use would be orange, brown and blue or green. You might ask now, why blue, and green? Those colours enhance the intensity of the eye colour, so play around with the different shades of blue/green, to see which one makes your eyes pop the most.

Brown eyes

They pop especially with the colour blue. The colour brown is not directly represented in the colour wheel, but it belongs to the orange family. In general, though, brown is the colour that pops the most when using colourful makeup.

Green eyes

The colour red will look amazing on green eyes. If the colour red is too daring for you, try any colour with a red hue, like (light)pink, rose gold, maroon or even purple!

Eyebrows

When doing your eyebrows, you want to follow the natural shape of your eyebrows. If you're unhappy with the shape of it, you can trim, shave, wax or pluck them to your desired shape. We recommend not to overdo it, just tweeze those hairs that are far away from your eyebrows.

Depending on what look, or technique works best for you is how you can decide what kind of product you want to use. The most used and most precise product to use is an eyebrow pencil. With an eyebrow pencil you can create small hairs that imitate your real eyebrow. Brow wax can make your eyebrows look too harsh and dark, so for beginners we advise you to stay away from those.

  1. Softly follow the bottom line of your eyebrow.
  2. Now follow the top.
  3. Fill in your eyebrow, starting from the end, because you want that part to appear darker.
  4. Softly fill in any sparce areas.
  5. Blend them.
  6. Clean the bottom up with concealer.
