Makeup for the skin

If you haven't determined your skin type, please visit the skin introduction page to find out.

When it comes to foundation the most important thing is the prepping of the skin beforehand. Using the right primer for your skin can change it all. What foundation you use afterwards doesn't really matter; you should decide yourself what kind of finish you're looking for. Just as important is the shade of the foundation, it should match your skin tone. Here are some foundations that have a wide shade range:

Primer

Dry skin

Use a moisturizing face cream and hydrating primer to have a flawless finish. Here's some hydrating primers for dry skin:

Both primers will make any foundation you use look flawless. Now it's your choice whether you want a glowy, matte, or natural finish for your foundation. Be aware when using powders because they can make your face look extra dry, if you want your makeup to last all day, opt for a setting spray.

Oily skin

For oily skin you want a primer that mattifies your skin.

If your skin still gets oily throughout the day we recommend you to use a powder to set your face. Both Fenty Beauty and NYX cosmetics provide a wide range of powders. They both not only provide powders but also blotting sheets, that absorb oil and are perfect to put into your purse to refresh your makeup.

Combination skin

Combination skin is quite hard to understand. Your skin prep will be the most important, so please read the hydrate section of combination skin on our site. On your t-zone we recommend you to use a pore filling primer and powder. Hydrate your cheeks well with your moisturizer, that can work as a primer as well. You do not need to overwhelm your skin.
